Brady-Perfors, Hayden, O'Neil selected for promotion to Captain

BUTLER- Squadron 712 has just minted three new Captains: Tina M. Brady-Perfors, April Hayden, and Sean O'Neil.

Brady-Perfors, from Saxonburg, PA joined CAP in 2010. She serves as the primary Squadron Administration Officer, primary Personnel Officer, and primary Testing Officer. She is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and holds the Air Search and Rescue Ribbon, the Davis Award, and two Achievement Medals. She is technician-rated on both the Administration and Personnel specialty tracks and serves as a Skills Evaluator for GTM3, MSA, and UDF. Her son also serves in CAP (holding the grade of 1st Lieutenant) as an Assistant Communications Officer and Assistant Cadet Activities Officer (also in Squadron 712) after attaining the grade of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel.

Hayden, from New Castle, PA, joined CAP in 2012. She serves in Squadron 712 as an Assistant Emergency Services Training Officer, Assistant Cadet Activities Officer, and as the Public Affairs Officer. Her newest assignment has her working as the Group 1 Recruiting/Retention Officer. She holds the Air Search and Rescue Ribbon, Yeager Award, Davis Award, and an Achievement Medal. She is technician-rated on the Emergency Services track, and serves as a Skills Evaluator for GTM3, GTM2, GTM1, GTL, and MSA. Hayden also has a son in the Cadet program, and he is working toward promoting to Cadet First Lieutenant. Both Hayden and her son are Rangers Second Class.

O'Neil, of Cranberry Township, PA joined as a Cadet in 1997 and attained the Mitchell Award in his Cadet tenure. He serves as the Deputy Commander for Cadets, Alerting Officer, Assistant Aerospace Education Officer, and is on several committees in the squadron. He holds the Red Service Ribbon with three clasps and the Davis Award. O'Neil is senior-rated on the Cadet Programs track. Many Cadets admire O'Neil's teaching capability, patience, and tech-savvy methods of conducting business.

Other recent Senior Member promotions in Squadron 712 include:
  • Lt Col P. Greg Bell (a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and pilot)
  • 1st Lt Frank Ekas (in recognition of his private pilot's license)
  • 1st Lt Michael Kittleson (in recognition of his achieving the Eaker Award as a Cadet)
  • MSgt Eric Klemm (in recognition of his Army service)

Squadron 712 has over 50 members, Cadets and Seniors combined, and is led by Lt Col Michael S. Lazaroff.
